Update for Helium 10: A New Security Upgrade is on the Way!
At Helium 10, our goal is to make your company safe and accessible in that order. Here’s where you can learn more about our new two-factor authentication!
Whether you’re new to the Helium 10 community or a seasoned veteran, you’re more than a “user”; you’re a member of the Helium 10 family. We’ve had the chance to develop in leaps and bounds during the previous few years. We’ve also had the privilege of hosting a platform that assists e-commerce sellers (of all skill levels) in getting one step closer to owning their ideal company.
We recognize that you are more than a “user,” and that your Helium 10 experience is more than simply an “account.” This is your company, and this is where you keep track of all of your most essential KPIs and make key decisions that affect your bottom line.
It is, in many ways, your livelihood!
As our family expands, we’d like to provide some interesting new options to help safeguard your account. These enhancements will add further levels of protection to your Helium 10 account while also assisting us in detecting any suspicious behavior (such as counterfeit login attempts).
The deployment of two-factor authentication will be the first stage.
How Will Two-Factor Authentication Work?
You’ve almost certainly used two-factor authentication previously. It refers to the procedure of adding a second step (such as an SMS or email confirmation code) to your login process in order to validate your identity.
We are making two-factor authentication available as a profile feature for any Helium 10 user (yes, including free user accounts!) starting today. Text, email, or any authentication app can be used for authentication. Follow the directions on the “Settings” page of your profile (through the drop-down menu) to set up authentication. Simply go to the landing page, click the link, and scan the QR code.
While you are not obliged to use two-factor authentication for everyday logins, Helium 10 will demand two-factor authentication if a suspicious login attempt is made.
How Does This Affect You?
In the end, you’ll have a more secure account! Consider it as storing all of your sensitive financial data in a safe within a safe.
As long as you have the most recent version of Helium 10, we’ll send you an email if there’s a suspicious login attempt and ask you to confirm your identity with a one-time code (or take additional steps to secure your account).
What Does a “Suspicious Login” Attempt Look Like?
Only if both of the following conditions are satisfied will automated two-factor authentication ping you:
- Your account is linked to a token or a credit card.
- We’ve noticed that your IP address is now located in a different country than it was previously.
If you are situated in the United States but go to Germany and attempt to login to your account, we will require email verification regardless of whether you have two-factor authentication enabled.
Helium 10 is in the business of making your company secure and accessible, in that order. We can focus on your privacy while you focus on your earnings with optional two-factor authentication for all users and automated two-factor authentication for questionable account activity.
Our objective is to make your account as private as a James Bond film, with so much sensitive information related so tightly to your business.
